As a female CrossFitter, women new to the idea of CrossFit often ask me if CrossFit will make them bulky.
Although I do not, myself, see the problem with gaining muscle (I am actually quite proud of my gains so far), I thought it might be interesting to address this point.
Here are my two cents:
Doing CrossFit with heavy weights will NOT make you look like a bodybuilder. Weights are no longer just for males.
You train for the results you want. CrossFit intends to make you fitter, faster and stronger. As a result, your body shape will change, but only as much as your genetics allow.
So, the good news is that a couple of CrossFit WOD’s (workouts of the day) in your weekly routine is unlikely to be enough to make you look manly. Expect to become a fitter, better-looking version of yourself – a woman. CrossFit alone won’t (and can’t) turn you into something you’re not.
